The New York State Department of Health (Department), Bureau
of Early Intervention is pleased to announce that Wei Wei & Co. was awarded
a multi-year contract to conduct a thorough review of claims submitted for
payment by Early Intervention providers throughout the State. The purpose of
the audits is to ensure
providers have the required documentation on file for services that have been
submitted as a claim for payment and to correct any deficiencies. Wei Wei & Co. will perform
approximately 100 audits a year, and they plan to start in January 2024. The
consultant will be following Office of Medicaid Inspector
General Early Intervention audit protocols and will
be citing Department regulations. A majority of the audits will be in-person
and will be scheduled several weeks in advance. Early Intervention providers
that are audited will receive a summary at the end of their audit. Final reports will be reviewed by the
Bureau of Early Intervention before they are sent out to each provider.
Please
contact the Bureau of Early Intervention by email at eip.fiscal@health.ny.gov with
any questions.
