Safety Net Payment Update

This is a reminder to the 172 EI Service Providers that participated in the Safety Net program that the reconciliation process begins the week of October 13, 2013. Safety net payments were calculated as 75% of the value of outstanding insurance claims submitted in the period April 1, 2013 through July 29, 2013.  All providers participating in safety net payments are required to continue to actively work with insurers and the State Fiscal Agent to complete the claims adjudication process for all claims submitted to insurers.  Providers participating in safety net payments are continuing to be paid in full for claims submitted to insurers in the period April 1, 2013 through July 29, 2013 at the time claims are adjudicated and moved forward for county and state payment. Beginning with payments issued October 17, 2013, for those 172 providers who received a Safety Net payment, a 25 % reduction will be made the total escrow payment received during each billing period until the total amount of the safety net payment is reconciled, or not later than July 31, 2014. Providers have the option of completing the reconciliation at an earlier date.
