For EI
Providers that bill services to the payer Beacon Health Options (formerly ValueOptions), the SFA currently sends
claims via paper. In order to improve claiming for this payer, the SFA has
identified a new process that will no longer require paper claims.
The SFA has
established a direct electronic connection with Beacon Health Options. This connection will allow claims to be sent
more efficiently, reduce the potential for error, and allow for timely
adjudication of EI claims. In order to utilize this connection, all EI
Providers that bill services to Beacon
Health Options must enroll in batch claims submissions, as described below.
If you bill Beacon Health Options, you will soon
receive an email from the SFA including a pre-populated Beacon Health Options authorization form. Please verify that the
information on the form is correct, and sign and date the form under “Provider
or Authorized Provider’s Staff Signature.” Please return the form to Beacon Health Options using the contact
information at the bottom of the form.
Important: Once the SFA completes the transition to
this new claiming process for Beacon
Health Options, claims from EI Providers that have not enrolled in
batch claims submissions will be rejected by the payer.
